Video Meeting Troubleshooting
Most online meeting issues come from permissions, device selection, unstable networks, outdated browsers, or background apps. Work through the checks below before changing platforms or restarting the entire meeting.
Audio problems
Check whether the correct microphone and speaker are selected inside the meeting app and inside your operating system. Disconnect unused Bluetooth devices, close other apps that may be using the microphone, and rejoin the meeting if the audio device list does not refresh.
Camera problems
Camera issues often come from browser permissions or another app already using the camera. Close camera apps, allow camera access in the browser, and check privacy settings at the operating system level.
Lag and connection problems
Turn off incoming video, pause cloud backups, close streaming tabs, move closer to the router, or switch to wired internet. If the meeting is still unstable, use audio-only mode and share notes after the call.
Screen sharing problems
Grant screen recording or screen sharing permission when the operating system asks for it. On some systems, you may need to restart the browser after enabling permission.
Why can others hear echo?
Echo usually happens when speakers feed audio back into the microphone. Use headphones, lower speaker volume, or mute when not speaking.
Why does the meeting link not open?
Try copying the full link into an updated browser, check whether your organization requires a signed-in account, and confirm the meeting has not expired or been canceled.
Why is my screen share black?
Close protected video content, update the browser, grant screen recording permission, and try sharing a single window instead of the whole display.
